After nightmarish start, 2009 global car production ends on a decidedly upbeat note

LAST year’s global passenger car production looks considerably healthier than could have been expected during the early part of last year when something close to wild-eyed panic summed up the closely harboured real mood of most autoindustry thinkers. The intensity of last year’s storms was such that even the biggest ships were initially blown off course.
