Signs of slackening European
truck recovery pace |

The good news for West Europe’s truck makers is that last
year’s west European sales of trucks in the over 6t GVW
class topped year ago levels by a strong 26 per cent, with
full year sales climbing to just a touch under 260,000
units. The bad news is, on the one hand, that last year’s turnout still remains miles short of the normal levels seen in pre-crisis 2007 and even 2008 when sector sales were still hovering around the 340,000 mark. On the other hand, the market’s strong recovery pace seen during the early part of last year has lost significant momentum during the second half, thus casting a pessimistic pall over this and next year’s truck sales outlook in Western Europe  MAN racing ahead in Western Europe
