Audi to build North American
car assembly plant |

It is not a question of if, but when and where Audi will
build its first North American car production plant. The issue remains firmly on the carmaker’s agenda, and a decision on the issue is expected to be made “before the summer break”, said Audi’s CEO Rupert Stadler at the company’s 2011 results presentation late last month. The intention is clear, to pave the way for a significant uplift in future US sales, Audi knows full well that a North American car assembly plant is a must rather than an option. That’s the gist of Rupert Stadler’s comments on his company’s ambitions to lift Audi’s US sales to more than 200,000 units by 2020 at the latest
