The belt-tightening austerity message may be dominating most of Europe at present, but global demand for excess, and luxury cars in particular, remains robust and is slowing only gently

China’s status-conscious rich, now the world’s biggest buyers of high price stretched luxury chariots like the Mercedes S-Class, BMW 7-Series and the Audi A8, have now also taken a shine to the no less imposing cars from Porsche.
