NEW PRODUCT - Lexus’ new GS slips quietly into UK showrooms
4th generation GS slips quietly into UK dealerships

The press launch of a new Executive-Sector car like the Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5-Series or the Audi A6, which have made most of their long-held sector stranglehold in Europe, is generally a grand affair with great pomp and ceremony.

By contrast, Lexus’ new GS, which supersedes a model that never managed to rise above a lowly also-ran position in Europe, drifted almost unnoticed into UK dealer showrooms this month.

UK prices for the new 4th generation Lexus GS, styled as a booted conventional 4-door saloon, start at £32,995 for the V6-powered GS 250SE, spiralling to a piercing £50,995 for the range-topping GS 450h Premier trim hybrid. Its main party piece: Combined petrol-electric systems power of 341PS and average CO2 emissions of 141g/km
