 Yet another piece of disappointing news for the electric car industry, pointing to a notably dimmer than expected turnout for the whole of 2012, slightly less than two thousand new electric cars first took to West Europe’s roads last November, according to AID’s exclusively compiled figures. Another poor turnout in November brings last year’s eleven months total to just over 22,000 units at a time when some 10.9 million new cars were sold in the region. Continuing the trend seen during the whole of last year, sales of electric cars during November hardly generated even a faint blip on closely watched industry radar screens. 0.2% EV market

Just 1,959 were first registered during
the month, representing a minuscule 0.2 per cent of the
0.9 million new cars sold in Western Europe during
the whole of November last year.
