November EV sales disappoint
Less than 2,000 electric cars sold in W-Europe in November

Yet another piece of disappointing news for the electric car industry, pointing to a notably dimmer than expected turnout for the whole of 2012, slightly less than two thousand new electric cars first took to West Europeís roads last November, according to AIDís exclusively compiled figures.

Another poor turnout in November brings last yearís eleven months total to just over 22,000 units at a time when some 10.9 million new cars were sold in the region.

Continuing the trend seen during the whole of last year, sales of electric cars during November hardly generated even a faint blip on closely watched industry radar screens.

West European Electric car share after 11-months


Just 1,959 were first registered during the month, representing a minuscule 0.2 per cent of the 0.9 million new cars sold in Western Europe during the whole of November last year.

AIDís exclusively compiled figures reveal that the total number of electric cars first registered in the region during the eleven months to November last year has risen to 22,114 units, thus accounting for just 0.2 per cent of West Europeís total new car market
