![]() Despite a still fragile looking recovery in their domestic French backyard, where last month’s car sales edged up by just half a per cent, domestic champions PSA and Renault kicked off France’s new car sales season with an opening salvo across the bows of main rivals. The underlying story was not dissimilar across the wider car sales arena in Western Europe, where at long last the fog of gloom appeared to be lifting. Attack is the best form of defence. That appears to be January’s message from French carmakers. +15%
