West Europe’s electric car share after 6-months 

West Europe’s electric car penetration in June, buoyed by the comparatively strong uplift in French sales, rose to 0.27 per cent from 0.15 per cent during the same month last year. 

Halfway through the current year, following a more than one-third jump in registrations to close on 15,000 units, helped elevate West Europe’s electric car share to 0.25 per cent from 0.17 per cent during the corresponding period of last year. 

Hard on ZOE’s heels, adding up to the prelude of a widely anticipated electric product-blitz, will be the November market debut of BMW’s i3. 

Tantamount to yet another big shot in the arm for Europe’s largely lifeless electric car sales scene, BMW’s all-electric clean-sheet i3 will enter German dealerships with a markedly lower than earlier anticipated retail price of €34,950.
