Electric cars set a new registration record this September.

Some 3,808 units were registered in a single month, which beats last year’s same month figure by more than half.

However, September’s outwardly impressive surge in registrations wasn’t totally unexpected.

This is chiefly the inevitable initial big splash from Tesla’s Model S.
