 To no one’s genuine surprise, given the collapse of Saab, Volvo was last year’s most notable winner. It gained just over one percentage point of domestic market share last year. But what has been a surprise to some observers of Sweden’s car sales scene, the headlong dive in Saab’s domestic car sales share seen since the early 2000s did not, as expected by some, benefit Volvo, the last remaining car maker based in Sweden.
