Electric car sales remain painfully slow; slower even than pessimists had first predicted

West European Electric Car Sales January by market

Hard on the heels of an already deeply disappointing year for the electric car industry,
AIDís exclusively compiled figures reveal that a mere 1,746 electric cars first took to West Europeís roads this January, thus accounting for a slightly improved 0.2 per cent of the regionís shrinking overall passenger car market.

However, Januaryís outwardly positive note for the industry, with sales rising 27 per cent, ostensibly masks some temporary market distortions.
