While nothing to write home about, Renault still managed to get on the score sheet for the first time with some halfway decent sales for one of its electric models.

That’s 70 first time domestic registrations for its ZOE.

That compares with the 36 registered in France last December, suggesting that during the current year the ZOE could conceivably reach some more meaningful numbers in both France and the rest of Europe.

In the UK, where the Clio-size ZOE is due to go on sale this summer, prices after the Ł5,000 government subsidy will start at an outwardly attractive Ł13,650.
