 Truck industry logic has it that more goods start moving when economies expand, with the consequence that more trucks take to the road. West Europe’s badly battered truck market remains in decline, but when judged from latest truck sales trends - echoing the first faint signs of improving European economies - it now resembles a market that is slowly on the mend, raising the prospect of continued further improvements during the second half. The fact that West Europe’s June truck sales in the over 3.50t GVW class fell 8.7 per cent, marking the 6th successive fall in as many months, would probably qualify as bad news.
