Truck industry on the verge of paying the price for last year’s extensive pre-buying – There is worse to come – Latest underlying trends support the view that it is probably wise to batten down the hatches in readiness of the storms yet to come during this year’s 4th quarter – Consensus view in truck industry circles now is for a single digit drop in this year’s West European heavy truck sales

West Europe’s registrations of trucks in the 16t GVW segment and over have now fallen in four of the past five months, and are expected to follow an accelerating slide during the remaining months of this year, thanks entirely to the extensive pre-buying of trucks during the closing months of last year.
