West European Electric car sales trends Q1 2015

In Western Europe, the Sunderland-built Nissan LEAF tops the best-seller list, accounting for 25.7 per cent of all new electric cars registered during this year’s opening first quarter, according to AID’s exclusively compiled figures.

One of the new recent arrivals, the second-placed e-Golf, took another 16.4 per cent.

Perhaps most astonishing to dedicated electric car market watchers, Tesla’s Model S, after yet another strong performance in Norway, took a further 16.2 per cent.

Renault’s slow-selling ZOE took fourth position with 14.7 per cent of West Europe’s overall electric car market.
