Asian carmakers turn focus on Europe for growth

Asian car manufacturers Europe July 2015

AID reports exclusively on the scramble for the spoils of Europe’s recovering car market which last month saw the 23rd successive monthly rise and the 9 per cent growth in July was the third-best best rise this year

With both Chinese and American new car demand cooling more rapidly than had been suggested by earlier industry forecasts, Asia’s leading carmakers discovered to their delight that West Europe’s previously slumbering car market has taken off again.

Hyundai-Kia, Nissan and Toyota, flanked by a near complete set of lower ranked Asian compatriots such as Mazda, Suzuki, Mitsubishi and even Subaru headed last month’s upwardly mobile, each posting double-digit percentage increases over the prior year's sales. 

All of which throws a topical spotlight on the extent to which this year’s market is turning round
