But in sales volume terms - despite its flying start into 2014 - Mercedes still trails January’s sector leading Audi and runner-up BMW by some distance, according to AID’s exclusive latest monthly barometer of global premium car sales activity For Mercedes, the new year got off to a fine start. Thanks to a blitz-like rush out of the starting blocks in China, where Mercedes upped its January sales by almost a half to just over 24,000 cars, on the global stage Mercedes outpaced all its nearest main rivals. Its January car sales gain, with sales rising by 15.4 per cent to 109,477 cars, was unmatched by any of its German compatriots, reports AID. 15.4%
